Words...words...words

You are In the Studio with Mrs B - welcome.  July 1st is the launch day at BlogTalkRadio - and time to start Blogger.com off as well.  This blog will most like be the test ground for LIVE Blog Talk radio and podcasts.

Let me tell you a bit about me...certainly not a young "chick" - nor am I ready for my demise either.  What I can say for positive is that cliche of sorts "words matter".  Let me re-type that - WORDS MATTER.  We see it every day.  Becomes clearer and clearer.

Waterloo, Iowa - yup that's where this gypsy spirit and soul was born.  IF I were a "fine wine" I would be v1943.  Most likely a full bodied red wine with subtle hints of spice.  Let it linger on the tongue.  Get the full burst of flavors.  According to Wine Folly - Look, Smell, Taste, Think/Conclude.  It's a journey that impacts the senses, isn't it?  Many layers....revealing itself to the one enjoying the glass of wine.

AND, that is (in my humble opinion) what words are.  They are not always just words but reveal thru tone, delivery, the person uttering them how we the listener or the reader interpret the intent the "deliverer" of those words shares.

Here's a word - IMMIGRANT.  Before the last few years the meaning of this word was the standard Webster definition:  one that immigrates: such asa person who comes to a country to take up permanent residencea plant or animal that becomes established in an area where it was previously unknown

In 2016 I was an immigrant.  The word took on a very personal meaning for me.  I met, fell in love with and married a French-Canadian who lived in Alberta Canada.  I became the word that has taken on an even bigger meaning in this world of current chaos and in some countries has a negative connotation and yet I am the same person before I became an "immigrant".

Now (as of April 17, 2018) I am a permanent resident of Canada and in five years can apply for dual citizenship.

Words Matter.

Now you know my beginnings and you know my "now".  But what is the middle?  What is the "guts" of the in between?  My passions?  the etc of my life.  Details.  Where along the way did I find my path to being an advocate.  An advocate for the Mature (Seniors), for the Challenged (disabled) and for those of us who took the Journey Into Uncharted Territory (the journey we do not choose to take - cancer).

No matter how old we are or where we live - life is about choices.  Not always easy choices but the ones we are given and it's up to us to decide how we deal with them.  What is the line in Forrest Gump?  Forrest Gump: My momma always said, 'Life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get.'

Forrest Gump's Momma was right - Life is like a box of chocolates.  There are some that we won't like and some we absolutely love.  And getting thru that box of chocolates (life) is a marvelous experience and teaches us much.

You are In the Studio with Mrs B - do join me again.  Remember life IS a box of chocolates...

A footnote:  And, reality of immigrating to another country - no matter what you hear immigrating to another country is a complex arduous journey under the best of circumstances.  Trust me it's never a slam dunk!
